General Admission ( Tyler ) threw down the Commuter Cam challenge . This was good timing as it is my last two weeks at work and it snowed! So here is my daily commute more or less.
Yep, Checkers is still there. I have to check every morning as I wake up and head to the bus.
For one of my more dangerous legs of the journey, crossing the Greenwood Market / Fred Meyer parking lot. This takes about 4 hours. Snow is typical over this part of the trek, even in July.
Oh crap, here is the 5 express. I am on the wrong side of the street, and 2 blocks away from the stop...
After a big sprint over ice, I make it onto the bus. So what do I do on the bus everyweekday?
Well, I might strike up a conversation when one of the many fellow commuters.
I read and re-read the signs on the bus. Especially if I have to stand or can't pull anything out of my bag. I love the poetry on the bus project.
And I wonder about these Employee of the Year people. Are they real? Are the stock photos?
So, I was probably standing next to Tyler cause we basically took the same Commuter Cam Challange... There was a tear in the sky which made this Monday more notable.
Today, Uptown Espresso gets my dolla bills. I stop and do homework for another hour, before walking the last few blocks to work.
Woo hoo. The morning commute is complete. I only have two weeks left at RealNetworks, Inc. It is really an easy enjoyable commute.
Open All Night!
I wait for the bus on the way home. It is so bright, because I have left work really early. I often stand at this bus stop and stare at this painted billboard and dream of all night coffee joints.
And now it's back home, across the parking lot of death. Greenwood has no sidewalks and Siberian like conditions. That is why I wear a Yellow Yeti Suit and watch of for vehicles pulling in or out. I love Greenwood, but it is not very pedestrian friendly.
Within minutes I am in my warm cozy place.
